Time for Glitz......Welcome to The IN! Glamour Awards!!!!
Friday, November 09, 2012Everyone knows that Miss Elle Woods loves nothing more than to report on a glamorous, red carpet event, and on Saturday 3rd November, The City Hall played host to the fourth Annual IN! Glamour Awards!! The glitterati were out in force as over 350 stylish individuals walked the red carpet, eager to discover who would be getting their hands on a coveted IN! Award!!
This year's event, in partnership with Danske Bank, was hosted by DJ and radio presenter Pete Snodden along with stunning TV presenter Zoe Salmon who wowed guests in a show stopping dress by local designer Una Rodden. Guests enjoyed an evening of gourmet food from Zen at an evening dedicated to celebrating the glamour and style of Northern Ireland
The winners of each of the categories included gorgeous Miss Northern Ireland Tiffany Brien for Most Glamorous Female sponsored by Vita Liberta. Anytime I spot Tiffany at the various fashion events we both attend, she always looks super stylish, a very worthy winner in my books as she always gets it right!!
Rory McIlroy received the award for Man of the Year Sponsored by Yacht Masters and Michael McKillop and Jason Smyth beat off some very stiff competition to jointly collect Sports Personality of the Year Sponsored by Powerade.
Of course it isn't a Red Carpet event without Newlyweds and power couple Alison and Darren Clarke, and once again they won the award for Most Glamorous Couple Sponsored by The OUTLET, with very glamorous guest Franca Robinson also being voted as Most Glamorous on the night, sponsored by Perfect-Night. Northern Ireland
Cover of the Year Sponsored by Skin Medi-Spa, went to ‘The Glamour Issue' which was picked up by Alison Clarke along with a selection of stunning models who featured on the winning cover!
Event of the Year Sponsored by Ticketmaster DV8, went to West Coast Cooler FASHIONWEEK. I was especially happy to hear West Coast Cooler FASHIONWEEK had won as it's one of my favourite events of the yr!! I’ve been attending the bi-annual event ever since I can remember, and it's fantastic to see it how it’s grown from strength to strength over the yrs!
The ceremony also welcomed an entirely new category this year in the form of Breakthrough Designer sponsored by Andrew Mulvenna. For me, this award was close to my heart as three of my hugely talented friends were nominated in this category: Lisa McCabe AKA Nor Lisa, Ruedi Maguire and Shauna Fay!!! All three designers have had an amazing 12 months, and it’s been wonderful to see them all progressing so well as each forge their own distinctive design path! On the night the award went to worthy winner Ruedi Maguire, who's designs are loved not only by myself but are regularly seen on some of the provinces most glamorous ladies such as the stunning Joanna Salley! On the night Joanne was once again spotted in a new creation by Ruedi, a beautiful black gown worthy of any red carpet!
Whilst they may not have won, Breakthrough designer finalist’s Nor Lisa and Shauna Fay were responsible for dressing some of the best dressed women of the evening! Lisa McCabe, the talent behind Nor Lisa sported a stunning blue lace gown, while former Miss UK Lucy Evangelista shone in a baroque patterned red flocked gown, Katie Larmour dazzled in a daring black lace bodice dress & Britain Ireland
Shauna Fay (Unify) proved why she was a finalist in Breakthrough designer, dressing Jayne Higgins in a beautiful silk dress worthy of the Hollywood starlets of yester years.
Last but not least recent OBE winner and Cinemagic CEO Joan Burney-Keatings picked up Most Stylish Professional sponsored by Shannon's The Jewellers.
As it turned out, along with the Breakthrough Designer Category it was an evening of firsts as Danske Bank also officially launched their sponsorship deal with IN! Magazine. Speaking on behalf of Danske Bank, Vicky Davies, Head of Strategy and Business Development said: "We're excited to have launched our partnership with IN! Magazine at tonight's Glamour Awards - one of our first sponsorships as Danske Bank in Northern Ireland
"On the eve of our rebrand from Northern Bank to Danske Bank on 15 November, we see great synergies between the banks and IN! - both are modern, cutting-edge brands committed to celebrating success and recognising all that is great about culture, sport, food and fashion in Northern Ireland."
The evening was a success, with many of Northern Ireland
Lisa Harrison said: "This year's IN! Glamour Awards really were bigger and better than ever. Once again, it has been a fantastically fun and glamorous event where we're not only celebrating style at its best but also recognising the achievements of some of our best known and stylish personalities. At the same time, we've raised some much needed funds for Children in Need, a very worthwhile cause that we are delighted to continue to support. We're already getting excited and starting to think about nominees for next year's event in 2013.”
