Maze owner Michael Karan, singer Rosie Timoney & Brazilian belly dancer, Cida Arcanjo at the Grand Opening of Maze Restaurant!
One thing I love is dining out.......an evening of fabulous cuisine, yummy cocktails and good company is my idea of THE perfect night out, and so I was delighted when I received an invitation to attend the Grand Opening of one of Belfast's newest restaurants, Maze!!
Located at 11 Wellington Place, the vibrant International Fusion restaurant is the brainchild of chef and restaurateur Michael Karan, who moved to Northern Ireland from New Delhi ten years ago. The sleek and sophisticated new eatery, which is on the site of Belfast's famous eatery, The Carlton Restaurant, appeals to all tastes and having sampled the cuisine, I must admit I was very impressed!
Mr Karan said: "Maze Restaurant is a place where you can come for breakfast, lunch and enjoy sumptuous dinners with wine and cocktails in the evenings. We are open non-stop from 8am until late to suit people's increasingly varied and busy lifestyles."

Myself and my fellow members from the media and fashion worlds were treated to a wonderful evening, enjoying a taste of its mouth-wateringly eclectic menu, indulging in some bubbly and cocktails whilst being entertained by the sweet sounds of smooth jazz vocalist Rosie Timoney!
This was then followed by a performance by Bubbly Brazilian belly dancer, Cida Arcanjo who brought a touch of samba glamour to Belfast, with many of the guests joining in!
The restaurant decor is stunning and can seat up to 130 people, boasting a lava stone grill, which makes the restaurant's speciality - deliciously charred, deeply flavoured Argentinean style, spiral cut steaks with chimichurri sauce. The steaks are marinated for 48 hours for maximum flavour!
The staff is a United Nations of catering talent with chefs and front-of-house staff from Italy, Poland, Egypt, Singapore, India and Northern Ireland. Head chef, Marcus Diego has worked in restaurants throughout the world including the US.
The Maze's team of chefs also includes one of Belfast's top Indian chef's, Jainal Abedin, who was head chef at a leading Indian restaurant Bengal Brasserie for over 17 years, as well as sous chef John Sanju who worked as chef trainer at the famous Gaucho Argentinian steak restaurant in London.

As for what to wear to such an event, well I wanted to wear something über chic, so I opted for an amazing LBD by Karen Millen!!! Their tuxedo suit pencil dress (DR189) is the epitome of sophistication, with it's exquisite cut, unusual neckline, and peplum detailing at the hips! I finished off the look with some diamonds (afterall diamonds are a girls best friend!) and I was all set for the evening!
I had a wonderful evening catching up with friends and sampling all the delicious cuisine, a massive thank you to Maze and Gary Kelly for the invitation to the Grand opening, can't wait to visit again!
