West Coast Cooler Belfast FASHIONWEEK: Focus on Florals at George!
Thursday, March 13, 2014
Woo hoo less than a week to go until West Coast Cooler Belfast FASHIONWEEK is upon us!!! To say I'm excited is a MASSIVE understatement and in the build up I thought I'd write a few blog posts focusing on some of the trends, retailers and designers we'll be seeing on the stylish FASHIONWEEK catwalk!
Today it's the turn of fabulous florals at fashion label George, who will be returning to the FASHIONWEEK catwalk for it's sixth time on Thursday 20th March! The show will be taking place in the iconic Ulster Museum, and George will once again strut its stuff and showcase the very latest trends and must-have buys from its Spring/Summer collection and High Summer range!
Model Jayne Higgins is pictured helping to celebrate the return of fashion label George to the Belfast FASHIONWEEK catwalk. Jayne models some key items from the George Spring/Summer collection which will be seen on the runway at the Ulster Museum on Thursday 20th March.
Kim Walsh, Regional George Manager for Northern Ireland, commented, “Following an incredible year for the George brand, we’re thrilled to once again take our place on the FASHIONWEEK stage. Over the last number of years, George has grown in popularity in Northern Ireland and fans have come to know and love the brand’s versatility and strength of design. This season, we are planning on showcasing a range of pretty pastels, ditzy floral prints and delicate blossoms and we’re really looking forward to putting on a spectacular show for all our fans.”
Cathy Martin, organiser of Belfast Fashion Week, said, “Having featured on the FASHIONWEEK catwalk for the last five seasons – including the brand’s first-ever standalone show last year – we’re delighted to once again welcome George to the runway. The show will take place in the fabulous Ulster Museum and we expect to have a full house of over 350 fashionistas gathered on the evening – all of whom I am sure will be ready to take notes when George takes to the catwalk with their stunning collection of Spring/Summer looks!”
Last Spring/Summer I had the privilege of meeting the design team behind the George label to interview them for my blog (click HERE to read it) and I loved getting an insight into what inspires and drives the team when producing their new collections! Last year their striking prints were seriously amazing, I especially loved their bikini's and swimsuits, and I can't wait to see what they've come up with for this season!
Once again prints are massive for spring/summer, with florals taking centre stage and I adore this soft and feminine kimono style jacket that model Jayne is wearing! A key piece for the season, this cover up could be styled in a myriad of ways, transforming a simple black dress or dressing up a pair of leggings, giving your emsemble The perfect SS'14 make over!

Print wise is this stylised animal print shift dress caught my eye, in hues of lilac and blue it takes a classic dress shape and print and gives it a youthful and edgy feel, perfectly suiting the SS'14 fashion mood!
Of course there is much more to see from George.........but you will just have to wait until next Thursday's fabulous catwalk show to see the rest of their covetable collection!!
Tickets for the George show are now available from http://www.belfastfashionweek.com/.
Massive thanks to Seona McGrath at Morrow Communications for press release and all imagery.
