A Match Made In Debenhams! SS17 Catwalk Preview!

Wednesday, February 08, 2017

Fashion and travel is always an irresistible combination and so when the lovely Emma and Kelly at Debenhams Ireland invited myself and a few of my fellow bloggers to Dublin for their exclusive Debenhams SS17 Press Preview Catwalk Show I couldn’t say no!

Debenhams is a brand which has always been best known for producing core staples that will cover you for all of life's little fashion dilemma's so I was really looking forward to checking out the upcoming Spring Summer 17 Collections!

The Debenhams Ireland PR team had arranged for us to travel down to Dublin by Belfast Mini Coach Hire accompanied by Tracey, one of their Personal Stylist's from Debenhams Rushmere. It was so much fun travelling down with my blogger friends Emily from Style Me With Love, Alison at Passion And Preening, Lauren from Tell Me About Lauren, Ashlee at Oh So Femme and Victoria from Dotty Diamond, to name but a few! It was a bit of a #BloggerRoadTrip and was a fab opportunity to get to know lots of other bloggers I had never met too!

Once we arrived in Dublin it was off to the Flagship Henry Street store to meet with PR Executive Kelly who had organised a fabulous brunch for us all to enjoy at the Debenhams restaurant which was gratefully received after our long trip!

After a whirlwind tour of the store (seriously the Henry Street store is sooo large!) we then headed off to the event itself, held in the majestic surroundings of the Pillar Room. We were greeted by the always fabulous Emma from Debenhams Ireland and a drinks reception with some mouth watering gin based cocktails from the team at Gunpowder Gin!

Before we knew it, the lights went down and it was time to take our seats for the catwalk show: “A Match Made In Debenhams" showcasing the very best from the Debenhams SS17 collections, styled by their Personal Shopper team.

As a massive fan of the designers at Debenhams range I was super excited to see what offerings there would be from brands J by Jasper Conran, NINE by Savannah Miller, Siren by Giles and Jenny Packham and I certainly wasn't disappointed!

Boho feminine chic and sleek outerwear were strong themes featuring relaxed, flowing dresses, embroidery and classic macs in muted neutrals and classic navy which were given a modern twist with statement neon accessories!

Strong statements of colour were also present in their swimwear range with citrus bursts of colours and pretty florals being the order of the day!

My favourite section was of course the occasion wear! Featuring intricate beading and embroidery with elegant bias cut fits in blush pinks, soft white's and cool mint's their designs were both feminine and whimsical, perfectly finished off with floral crowns!

As for my OOTD, well I was rocking my latest obsession, this stunning tassel fringed Chanel inspired jacket from Zara! I kept the look edgy with an amazing pear of second skin silver metallic leather leggings, ombre snakeskin shoes and finished it all off with a statement fringed tweed bag! (all from Zara).

I would like to take this opportunity to thank both Emma and Kelly for organising our trip down to Dublin, it was so lovely to catch up with everyone again and to preview the new season collections!
