Beauty Queen goes ‘Wild’ for Junk Kouture!

Thursday, April 03, 2014

Last season at the Autumn Winter'13 show at Belfast FASHIONWEEK we were treated to a fabulous catwalk show featuring the wonderful creative talents of the 2013 Junk Kouture finalists!

I'm very pleased to announce that the competition is once again happening in 2014, with the Grand Final taking place in the Bord Gais Energy Theatre, Dublin on 2th May! While 19 of the 20 designs had been chosen, there was still one place left for one talented student/team.........but who would it be???

Well New-Bridge Integrated College students had a surprise visit when former Miss World Rosanna Davison - a judge in the popular recycled fashion competition Junk Kouture - arrived at their school last week to announce the competition's Bank of Ireland ‘Wild Card' entry to the final!

Joined by John Rocks, Banbridge Branch Manager, Bank of Ireland UK, sponsors of Junk Kouture, and Emile Rainey of Junk Kouture, the team showed off the dress 'Hydrengia Mania' made by students Megan Johnson, Sara Johnson and Clarissa Moore.

Their Northern Region 'Wild Card' entry completes the final twenty designs going through to the Grand Final in the Bord Gais Energy Theatre, Dublin on 2th May 2014, when the dress will battle it out against 79 other finalists from across Ireland, North and South where students will be showcasing their amazing 'couture trash' designs. I for one can't wait to see the final 20 designs and I wish all the finalists all the very best for the Grand Final!!
