Last month I had the immense pleasure of attending the super stylish launch of Sudio Souk right in the heart of Belfast City Centre!

 

 

One thing I feel very strongly in is the importance of supporting and nurturing our local design talent, we have some hugely talented creatives here in Northern Ireland and all too often the difficulty lies in making the general public aware of what they do and where you can buy their amazing products!

It was with this philosophy in mind that Studio Souk was born! Many will remember when the non-profit makers and merchandise store and studio for artists and creatives first opened its doors in Spires Mall on 14th November 2013 with just a hand full of artists and designers in a small space. However, roll on two years and the Studio Souk has officially opened its doors in Castle Lane, Belfast to a brand new studio with a 6000ft2, space which includes a café, shared studio and design area as well as a retail space housing local creative businesses - some with a recycled or up-cycled twist.

 

 

Of course when I heard about the new store I couldn't wait to explore this brand new "Aladin's Cave" of treasures and I was super excited to learn that I was invited along with fellow bloggers, fashionistas and media for a sneek peek before the doors opened to the public!

 

 

From fashion to jewellery to an exciting array of home furnishings, there is something new and exciting to discover in every nook and cranny, I litterly could spend hours exploring the store, if like me you love things which are unique and quirky you will think you have died and gone to heaven in Studio Souk!

 

 

Studio owner Linzi Rooney said she was very excited to be opening a brand new studio in the heart of the city. ‘We’re not just popping up, we’re planting roots, with a new, bigger and here to stay store at Castle Lane Belfast. When asked about what to expect at the new studio, Linzi replied: ‘Expect to see a fabulous new space with a warm and friendly atmosphere for existing and new customers of the Souk, who will be able to create and sell their products, giving them a unique and memorable experience!’

As for what I wearing well I opted for lots of sparkles! Working a gorgeous sequin A line skirt and top combo which has been a faithful part of my wardrobe for many years now, perfectly accessorised by my Hermès green croc Collier De Chien leather cuff and my stunning water droplet silk scarf by John Galliano! Of course no outfit is complete with out skyscraper heels and these came in the form of my beloved Metallic green snakeskin "Gable D" platform sandals from Dune!

 

 

Of course you know me, I do love to catch up with all my friends, and between chatting and socialising  I found myself to be one of the last to leave! It was such a fun evening and wonderful to experience something so exciting! The souk is located in a prime Belfast City Centre retail location and I really hope this means that many more people will now get to experience Studio Souk, and I wish them every success in their new home! I know I'll certainly be returning every chance I get and I hope you all get the chance to visit too, trust me you won't be disappointed!
