The Style Stakes Heat up at Day Two of Coast's Best Dressed Competition at Punchestown Racing Festival!
Thursday, April 25, 2013The racing season as kicked off in style, as Day one proved to be a stylish opening to the Punchestown Racing Festival and "Elle Woods" has loved seeing the various looks sported at the festival so far!
Day two of the Punchestown Racing Festival may have came with some light wind and rain but the style and fashion stakes were as high as any other day at the festival. Hundreds of ladies braved the elements and dressed to impress on the second day of the festival.
Today's judges, TV3 Xposé Presenter Aisling O'Loughling and former Xposé colleague Lorraine Keane had the difficult task of deciding between the impressive line up of finalist's for Coast's Best Dressed Lady.
The winning lady today was Rebecca Daly from Lucan, a member of An Garda Siochana who is stationed in Dublin. Rebecca received an impressive EUR1,000 voucher to spend at Coast with a personal style session; as well as a fabulous goody bag containing a gift from Coast. Each of today's finalists also received a gorgeous goody bag from Coast as a prize for making the top ten. Rebecca attended today's race meeting with her colleague Aileen O'Meara, also a garda based in Dublin. They were dining at the Longford GAA Pavilion when Rebecca's winning look caught the judges' eye, though Lorraine did spot Rebecca's striped Coast monochrome dress earlier in the afternoon and was keeping an eye out to ask her to be a finalist in Coast's Best Dressed Lady competition today.
Rebecca was certainly the deserving winner of the day. She teamed her striped monochrome Coast dress with a short black jacket from H & M, a Jasper Conran headpiece to which she added a red flower, a pair of red shoes she borrowed from her sister, a bag from Chloe and a pair of black gloves from Clerys Department Store.
Rebecca will be invited back to enter Friday's final of Coast's Best Dressed Lady competition. The fantastic prize for the overall winner on Friday is an amazing jet-set international shopping spree to three flagship Coast stores around the world - to London, Madrid and New York - for the winner and a friend.
Judges Aisling and Lorraine were today looking for a stylish winner who dared to face the not-so-sunny weather conditions and don their finery. They were also looking for someone who displayed an elegance and sophistication with their outfit, and who dressed smartly for today's weather so that with or without an overcoat their outfit retained its impact. Lorraine in particular wanted someone who was dressed from head to toe, with an appropriate head piece.
Coast Best Dressed judge Lorraine Keane commented, "I really wanted to find a winner today who represented Coast by being sophisticated, elegant, stylish - and someone who had a hat or a hatinator on their head! Footwear is also a big one for me, and in Rebecca we found someone dressed from head to toe beautifully! She also had a similar monochrome look to my outfit today so I noticed her immediately when I came in this afternoon, and went searching for her in the Longford GAA Pavillion!'"
Aisling commented, "Myself and Lorraine really battled over a few of the finalists whom we both felt deserved to win Coast's Best Dressed Lady today, but in the end when they all lined up we agreed that Rebecca really stood out for us. She's on a day off from her duties as a Garda, and she really turned on the style and is a very deserving winner of Coast's Best Dressed Lady today!'
Liam Holton, Marketing Director at Punchestown, commented, "We are delighted with today's Coast Best Dressed Lady Rebecca Daly, and glad to hear she was enjoying dining at the Longford GAA Pavillion. She looks fantastic and had a great day at Punchestown by all accounts."
Plenty of familiar faces attended today's races including actor James Nesbitt, former RTE news anchor Anne Doyle, rugby players Fergus McFadden and Sean O'Brien as well as former Ireland football captain Steve Staunton.
