Partying with the World's Elite at The Global Party 2013!

Tuesday, July 02, 2013

Founded in 2011, The Global Party was a worldwide event bringing together the world's elite on a global scale, at some of the world's most exclusive venues in a bid to raise awareness and funds for Children's Charities. Last week it made it's welcome return on an even larger scale, based on the theme of 360 degrees. It consisted of 360 luxury venue's bringing together the world's elite in over 120 cities across the globe to party in opulent style...........and guess what, I was there!!!

As you all know I do love a good party, especially one filled with champagne and cocktails, in the most exclusive of surroundings and so when I received my invite to the first Global Party to ever take place in Northern Ireland I was beyond excited!! Previous attendees at Global Party events have included the likes of supermodel Lily Cole and actress Hayden Panettiere, and so I knew I was in for a very glamorous event indeed!

El Divino was to be the venue for the only "Global Party" in Northern Ireland and having recently attended the opening of their newly refurbished VIP "Green Room" I knew we would be in for a fabulous evening! Question was what would I wear to such a glamorous event???

Well if I'm honest it wasn't too hard a decision, I had been lucky enough to attend the press day for Karen Millen SS'13 a few months back and had seen THE most stunning LBD. With a distinctly Grecian feel, it consisted of elegant ruching throughout the design, creating a silhouette that shows off the figure to perfection! It's full length exposed side metal zip running seductively downwards acted as a welcome contrast to the feminity of the dress, whilst still retaining a super chic feel! So it was just a case of heading down to the girls in Karen Millen Belfast with my fingers crossed to see if they had my size in stock!!!

Thankfully they did and as soon as I tried it on I knew it was the right choice!! Dress sorted, it was time to choose my accessories! To mirror the chic and opulent feel of the event I decided to pair it with my über glam Swarovski encrusted clutch (a Christmas gift from a few yrs back) and diamanté and nude satin "Ruthe" shoes from Aldo! Jewellery wise I wanted something which would make a statement so I opted for designer abstract style sterling silver earrings and matching pendant and found that my recent purchase from Thomas Belfast, (my "Chaos" bracelet) worked perfectly with them!

As it was set to be such a glam event I wanted something really special to finish off the look and so off I went to see the fabulous Denise McCluskey, owner of Michéle International to sort out my brunette locks! We opted for a chic and sophisticated up do, with a slightly "unfinished" look at the back to keep it young and fresh! I don't tend to wear my hair up very often but I couldn't have been happier with the end result and really was THE perfect finishing touch to the ensemble!!

The Global Party "Red Carpet"!

With hair, make up and outfit sorted I headed off to the event feeling a million dollars, and couldn't wait to catch up with my fellow guests and friends at the event!! I hope you enjoy looking at the photos we took as well as some of the official photos from the event itself and I'm very pleased to announce that through donations, a special auction & raffle held on the night, just under £3000 was raised for the Downs Syndrome Association and NI Cancer Fund for Children!
