An afternoon of pampering at Renu's Nail and Threading Bar!

Us girls all love a good pampering session, especially as our lives become ever more hectic! Therefore it was with great excitement that I headed down to Michéle International to meet the lovely Renu to try out her fabulous nail and threading bar! Many of Northern Ireland's top models and fashionista's, including the current Miss Northern Ireland Meagan Green are regular customers of Renu's so I knew I would be in safe hands!
As a hair client, I've been with Michéle International for 14yrs, but this was the first time had the pleasure of visiting Renu as I tend to do most of my beauty treatments at home! Renu's been based at Michéle International for the last three years and offers a variety of treatments, specialising in Bio Sculpture gel overlay for perfect manicures and pedicures, as well as threading, eyebrow/eyelash tinting and eyelash extensions, etc!
In my case I'm quite lucky as I already have strong, long natural nails, so she had a good base to start with. However Bio Sculpture Gel acts as a non-chip coating that is applied over natural nails to protect, condition and keep them strong! So it work's well with most nail types!

As my nails are so long, I prefer to keep my fingernails to more muted natural tones (saving the brights for my pedicures!) and after a lengthy consultation with Renu I opted for a classic nude! However there's a wide range of colours available, from hot corals to sizzling yellows, so there will be something to suit everyone!
It's a simple enough process, building up layers and drying under a UV light to create a flexible and glossy coating to the natural nail, and as I already had long nails to start with there no need to extend my nail. Instead I just went for a colour gel overlay creating a super glossy, chip free manicure, which unlike traditional manicures will last for weeks! Then when you decide to have it removed you return to the salon where they will soak your nails to remove it. (It's not advised to remove it yourself!)
I must admit I was very pleased with the end result, such a gorgeous colour and great glossy finish! Plus I love the fact that once applied I won't have to worry about the colour chipping, perfect for the woman with a busy lifestyle!

Renu can also do a variety of nail art too and will create whatever look you are after! So if you're after a long lasting, hassle free manicure, Bio Sculpture Gel is the way to go!

While I was with Renu I thought it would be a fantastic opportunity to try "Threading" too, a process whereby hair is removed using twisted threads. Renu has been "Threading" for 14yrs & with some amazing reccomendations from some of N.I's best models I knew i'd be in safe hands!
I'd heard about threading before and knew it to be a popular treatment amongst celebrities as it creates a natural, but very precise shape to the eyebrow. It's also very good for people with sensitive skin, or people who find their skin can be irritated by waxing!
Normally I just tweeze the odd hair that is out of place, as I already have a good strong natural shape to my brow. But as you can see from my "before & after" pictures Renu was able to remove all those little stray hairs giving me a fabulous groomed look to my eyebrows which really opens up my eyes!
It's hard to describe the sensation of having my brows "threaded" it was a very strange sensation, but one I would happily sit through again! As my skin is so pale I did notice a little redness after the procedure, but this died down very quickly and left me with a beautifully arched brow that I love! I'm officially a "Threading" convert and would definitely recommend it!

Massive thanks to Renu for such a lovely afternoon! She was fantastic, giving me plenty of advice on both treatments and really listened to what I wanted! She was an absolute joy to visit and I now understand why so many ladies I know say they can't live without her!!
