I have to confess I do love the finer things in life……..luxury travel, cocktails and champagne, beautiful surroundings and spa days! But let's be honest, who has the time to organize it all?? Well guess what! It turns out those lovely people at McCombs Coach Tours have just the package to suit us busy fashionista’s who want a stress-free, luxurious pampering day: their “Treat Thursday Spa Day” Tour!!

Now for some of you who follow me on my social media you may remember my VIP trip with McCombs to Kildare Village a few months back, well from that I cannot praise the McCombs team highly enough! From the second we stepped onto the coach to the second we stepped off into shopping heaven (AKA Kildare Village), McCombs made sure all our needs were met! Husband and wife duo Caroline and Rodney McComb are not only two genuinely lovely people, but they truly place customer satisfaction as the core principle of their company. Which was why I was so excited when they asked if I would like to try their “Treat Thursday's” Spa Day package along with some of my fellow blogger friends!

Our first stop of the day was at our pick up point: the fabulous Hastings Europa Hotel in Belfast for our breakfast! With everything from healthy muesli to an indulgent cooked breakfast it was THE perfect way to start off the day! Of course I couldn't resist starting off proceedings with a delicious Ulster Fry!!


Then we were off to Hastings Slieve Donard in Newcastle in one of McCombs luxurious coaches! Now you need to understand that when you travel with McCombs it’s the full VIP treatment! Our coach had luxurious leather seating with tables at the back and even it’s own Wi-Fi!! Perfect for a bus load of bloggers who have an addiction to their social media!


For me the fun lay in the fact that I was traveling down with my fellow bloggers, Kathryn McKeown (Fabulous and Something), Emer Dooris (NI Gossip Guy), Lucy Evangelista, Keith Mitchell, Jeff Meredith (Belfast Times), Ruth Maguire (Willow Lane) as well as Michael McCrory & Rodney and Caroline McComb. Going with friends is such good way to experience the day as the giggles and laughter began for us from the moment we hopped on board the coach and continued throughout the day!


I’ve had the pleasure off visiting Hastings Slieve Donard on many occasions, and the first thing that hits you is it's stunning backdrop of the sea and the Mourne Mountains, plus their ESPA Spa is state of the art, and from the second we arrived we received the full VIP treatment!


Firstly we were greeted with an array of goodies to enjoy after our coach ride, strawberries, macarons, chilled water and a little Prosecco! Then it was off to slip into our fluffy robes and avail of the numerous amenities that their award winning ESPA Spa has to offer!



We had full use of the gym, pool, vitality pool, swan neck massages, rain showers, amethyst steam room and rock sauna, and I can't tell you the immense pleasure I had relaxing in their vitality pool and rock sauna! I also nipped into their rain showers (so invigorating!) and their steam room which did wonders for my skin!


Then it was time to take a short walk over to the newly refurbished Percy French Restaurant for a delicious two-course lunch! For anyone who follows me on Instagram you will know I'm a real foodie, and our two course lunch certainly lived up to expectations and tasted every bit as good as it looked!


I opted for the Glenarm organic salmon and chunky chips followed by an utterly delicious sticky toffee pudding and finished off with tea or coffee! Both courses were seriously yummy and from where we were seated we had a wonderful view taking in the beautiful Newcastle landscape!
