Style Diaries: Day 1 West Coast Cooler FASHIONWEEK AW16!

Saturday, November 12, 2016

There is always something rather magical about the beginning of FASHIONWEEK, the excitement of catching up with all my friends in the fashion world, sitting FROW as we check out all the latest looks on the catwalk and the opportunity to rock some really cool outfits during the whirlwind schedule of shows and parties!

For Day One of West Coast Cooler Belfast FASHIONWEEK I wanted to go for a look that had an edgy but luxe feel, perfect for the Local Designer & Independent Boutique catwalk show, so it was the perfect opportunity to rock a really statement look!

I instantly fell in love with this "Limited Edition" camouflage faux fur jacket from Marks & Spencer and decided to style my whole ensemble round it, picking up the green hues of the jacket through my luxe accessories!

It was all about the exotics with my iconic croc "Collier de Chien" cuff from Hermés and my snakeprint clutch from Karen Millen, finished off with my treasured emerald cut East West ring and accompanying half eternity band both from fine jewellery brand Tacori!

I do love taking fashion risks, and for this look I wanted to opt for a super sexy feel, this was achieved through my sleek Michael Kors leather leggings and a rather sexy feather lace bralet from TopShop, that had the most exquisite bondage style detailing at the back!

Of course no outfit is complete without hair and make up, and thanks to FASHIONWEEK hair sponsor ALFAPARF Milano I was able to have catwalk ready hair! It was so much fun heading backstage at FASHIONWEEK to have my hair styled by the amazing team at Benjamin Close Hairdressing, who were able to use ALFAPARF Milano products to create the perfect hairstyle to compliment my look!

After talking to the Benjamin Close team we decided to go for a highly textured look, giving me lift at the roots while creating a loose curl look with a deconstructed feel. I usually go for straight and sleek so this really was a style departure for me but I was over the moon with the results, my hair totally slayed!

To achieve this look a wand was used to create the looks curls, while ALFAPARF S4U vintagE Matt Talc was used to create root lift and texture, and their Semi Di Lino illuminating Hairspray helped to keep the look locked in place! The best part was that not only did my hair look fab all night, but the next day it completely brushed out, something I have never experienced before as usually I end up having to wash my hair after using products, so it was a welcome bonus!

Overall I was really happy with my whole look, and I do feel my ensemble wouldn't have had the same impact without my new hairstyle! Then it was off to hit the cameras and to sit FROW with my fashion friends to enjoy the opening show at FASHIONWEEK!

Catching up with FASHIONWEEK TV Presenter Katie Larmour.

Marks and Spencer Limited Edition camouflage faux fur jacket, TopShop feather lace bralet, Michael Kors leather leggings, Dune “Zia” suede caged sandals, Hermés croc Collier de Chien cuff in palladium hardware, Karen Millen Snakeprint envelope clutch (GM208) Tacorl emerald cut east west ring, Tacori half eternity ring.

Once again a massive thank you to Cathy and Chris at CMPR for always making me feel part of the family at FASHIONWEEK, thanks to Benjamin Close Hairdressing for their styling expertise and to FASHIONWEEK hair sponsors ALFAPARF MILANO for partnering with me to create the ultimate FROW hairstyle!
